Honda has launched its two new electric scooters in India, but would anyone really want to buy Activa e and Activa QC1 leaving the electric scooters of Ola, Ather and Bajaj, because both the electric scooters have some shortcomings, which it is important for you to know, firstly, a big company like Honda has taken a lot of time to launch the electric scooter, other companies launched their good electric scooters in India a few years ago and they have been successful too, the problems in their electric scooters have been rectified and new options are available to the customers, but a big company like Honda has delayed bringing its electric scooter to India and some shortcomings have also come to the fore due to which a decline in the sales of Activa e can be seen, let us know in detail.

Design :
The design of Activa e is very simple and attractive, the scooter feels very premium, high quality ABS plastic is used in the body of the scooter, in this electric scooter you are given Tubular Steel Frame , the front look of the scooter is very minimalistic , due to the position of DRL and headlight , you may get a look similar to TVS iQube , you get LED DRL lighting in the head of the scooter, in the front body you get projector headlight and turn indicators are given on the corners of the same light housing, you get side mirrors in body color, due to this the look of the scooter looks unique, on the rear side of the scooter you are given bright LED tail lamp and in the corner of the same light housing you get rear turn indicators which look very attractive, next to it you get the badging of Activa e.
You are provided with 12 inch tubeless tyres with front and rear alloy wheels , you get a 160 mm disc brake in the front wheel and a 130 mm drum brake in the rear wheel , you get a comfortable footrest in the front along with a good floor board for keeping luggage, you get two glove pockets on the front side of the scooter , the scooter comes with foldable foot pegs along with a comfortable grab handle at the rear, you get two swappable batteries under the seat of this electric scooter due to which you get almost no storage, but the look of this electric scooter is absolutely premium and unique .

Comfort :
If we talk about comfort, in Honda Activa e you get 12″+12″ Alloy Wheels, along with this you get 160 mm disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear with ABS, if we talk about suspension, you get dual hydraulic telescopic suspension at the front and Side Mono-Shock spring suspension at the rear which you can adjust in 3 steps which makes the ride very smooth, in this electric scooter you get a comfortable and wide seat, you get a comfortable grab handle at the rear, the KERB weight of this scooter is 119kg, if we talk about ground clearance, you get 171 mm.
Features :
If we talk about features , Honda Activa e reaches O-60km in just 7.3 sec . You are given three power modes in this electric scooter, Sport , Standard and Eco mode. The top speed of Activa e in Sport mode is 80km/h . You also get reverse assist in Activa e .
You get a 7-inch smart instrument cluster that comes with Cortex-A72 Quadcore , 6GB Ram and 32GB ROM , for connectivity you get Wifi and Bluetooth which are used for real-time diagnostics with smartphone connectivity and this scooter has all the sensors that meet the new European regulations, in the front you get a USB port for charging the smartphone , talking about other features, you get features like Smart Key , Topple Alert , Maintenance Alert , because of the two swappable battery packs you get almost no under seat storage but you do get a carry hook .
Power :
If we talk about performance, then in Honda Activa e you are given a powerful 6 kW PMSM Direct Drive Motor, whose Continuous Power is 3.0 kW and Peak Power is 6.0 kW which generates 8 BHP and its Peak Torque is 22 Nm, 0-60km/h is reached in 7.3 sec, you are given 3 ride modes in this scooter, it gives a top speed of 40 Km/h in Eco mode and 60 Km/h in Standard mode and 80+ Km/h in Sport mode, which is enough for a City Commute Vehicle.
Battery :
If we talk about the Battery capacity, then in Honda Activa e you have been given two swappable Li-ion batteries of 1.5KWh each under the seat like Acer Muvi 125 electric scooter. If you live in metro cities then you will be able to swap the battery from Honda public station within a minute which is a very good thing. You don’t need to charge the battery at home but the company has not yet said anything about how much money you will have to spend for this. And these battery swap stations will be available only in metro cities for now, so customers from smaller cities will have to buy home charging dock as an accessory separately so that they can charge the swappable batteries at home. The company has not yet disclosed the time taken to charge Activa e from the charging dock at home.
Range:
If we talk about range (mileage), then Honda Activa e electric scooter claims an IDC range of 102km in Eco mode in a single charge, but if we talk about real range (mileage), then you can get a range of 90km+* in Eco mode , but still the real range depends on the load and in which mode you are riding it, and whether one person is driving the scooter or another person is riding behind you, it depends on that how much range (mileage) Honda Activa e will give you.
Price :
If we talk about the price , then you can get the Activa e electric scooter at ₹ 119,999* X-Showroom price because Honda has not revealed the price yet, its booking will start from January 1, 2025.
Warranty :
If we talk about warranty , on Honda Activa e electric scooter, you get a total warranty of 3 years or 50,000km on the motor and the vehicle and you get a warranty of 3 years or 50,000km on the battery , which you can extend by 2 more years to 5 years.
Opinion :
Honda ‘s Activa e is a premium electric scooter , you get all the necessary features in this electric scooter, but there are some drawbacks in this electric scooter like you do not get boot space because of swappable batteries, you have to go to Honda swap station to swap the battery and you will have to pay more money for that and these battery swap stations will be available only in selected metro cities, so people of other small cities will not be able to buy this electric scooter, it would be good if Honda makes portable battery pack charger dock available as an accessory.
